Middle School "The Pursuit" Summer Camp 2026 (Campamento de Jovenes)

Cost: $260 Due: June 26th (All payments are non-transferable and non-refundable) 
Late Registration: $300 (if received after June 26th).

Middle School students who will be in grades 6th-8th for the 2026-2027 school year. 

Dates: Friday July 17th – Monday, July 20th

Location: Camp Cedar Crest- Running Springs, California

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE INFO:
Student check in 7/17 @ 11am. Be sure to drop off luggage at the designated tent and proceed to check-in inside of the Hayford Prayer Chapel. PARENTS/GUARDIAN MUST BE PRESENT!
Students will arrive back 7/20 at approximately 2pm at the Hayford Prayer Chapel. But we will communicate updated information the week of. Times are subject to change.

Why camp?
Students are being pulled in a dozen different directions all school year long. Truth can become blurry and pressures can really begin to weigh in. Camps and Retreats can afford students the opportunity to step away from the distractions to think clearly and experience Christ in a fresh way. Jesus sets for us this example, as He would often retreat to desolate and quiet places to seek the Father and pray (Mk 1:35). If we have one hour of quality investment time with your student each week at youth group (say roughly 50 hours a year), we will nearly match that time together in just the few days we spend away. Camp is a high concentration of community, discipleship and fun!

¿Porqué un campamento? 

Los estudiantes son atraídos por muchas cosas diferentes durante todo el año escolar. La verdad puede volverse borrosa y las presiones realmente pueden comenzar a influir. Los campamentos y retiros pueden brindarles a los estudiantes la oportunidad de alejarse de las distracciones para pensar con claridad y experimentar a Cristo de una manera nueva. Jesús nos da este ejemplo, ya que a menudo se retiraba a lugares desolados y tranquilos para buscar al Padre y orar (Marcos 1:35). Si nosotros invertimos una hora de tiempo con su hijo cada semana en el grupo de jóvenes(digamos aproximadamente 50 horas al año), casi igualaremos ese tiempo juntos en solo los pocos días que pasamos fuera. ¡El campamento de verano es una alta concentración de comunidad, discipulado y diversión!

Why should I send my child to the summer camp?
When I ask students "so when did Jesus begin to make the most sense to you? "The answer I almost always get is camp! For many, camp becomes the beginning of deeper faith and God-sized dreams! Even when we think about the beginning of our own faith, we are usually drawn to memories of specific environments that afforded us unhurried time to think, breathe and worship. Usually, those spaces included specific people who were bent on showing us more of Jesus. Camp creates that unforgettable environment and includes those faces that will forever become a part of the future faith stories of our students.

¿Porqué debo enviar a mi hijo al campamento de verano? 

Cuando les pregunto a los estudiantes "¿cuándo comenzastes a entender a Jesús?" ¡La respuesta que casi siempre obtengo es en el campamento de invierno o campamento de verano! ¡Para muchos, el campamento se convierte en el comienzo de una fe más profunda y sueños del tamaño de Dios! Incluso cuando pensamos en el comienzo de nuestra propia fe, por lo general nos atraen los recuerdos de tiempos específicos para pensar, respirar y adorar sin prisa. How old does my child have to be to attend?
Youth students who completed 5th - completed 7th are welcome to join us!

What does the cost of the event cover?
The cost covers just about everything: 8 meals, lodging, transportation, most activities and retreat keepsakes. There may be a small fee for individual camp activities like paintball.

What is the cut-off date for retreat registration?
The cut-off date is Friday, June 26th, so be sure to sign-up fast!

What will students do while at camp?
Camp is created to engage students with the gospel in ways they understand. Students will enjoy nightly rallies, high-energy worship, small group discipleship, tons of fun and other special retreat exclusive elements!

 ¿Qué harán los estudiantes mientras estén en el campamento?
El campamento se crea para involucrar a los estudiantes con el evangelio de manera que lo entiendan. ¡Los estudiantes disfrutarán de adoración de alta energía, discipulado en grupos pequeños, mucha diversión y otros elementos especiales exclusivos del retiro!

What are the sleeping arrangements?
Students will be staying in cabins. They will be assigned according to their age and gender. Each cabin will also contain leaders at a 1:10 ratio.

Los estudiantes se alojarán en cabañas. Serán asignados de acuerdo a su edad y género. Cada cabina también contendrá 1-2 líderes adultos por cada 10 estudiantes. 

Can my child partially attend?
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate partial attendance for Camps.

 ¿Puede mi hijo asistir parcialmente?
Desafortunadamente, no podemos acomodar la asistencia parcial para el campamento de verano. 

Can my child pick who they want to room with?
Students cannot pick who they want in their room. You can imagine trying to accommodate everyone according to his or her rooming preference becomes exceptionally difficult. At the same time, we try our best to organize the sleeping arrangements according to who we know will want to room together. The only exception is if a student brings a friend who does not attend Youth Group. We will be sure to accommodate them in their rooming preference.

Los estudiantes no pueden elegir a quién quieren en su habitación. Imaginese si tratariamos de acomodar a todos de acuerdo con su preferencia de alojamiento se vuelve excepcionalmente difícil. Al mismo tiempo, hacemos todo lo posible para organizar los arreglos para dormir de acuerdo con quiénes sabemos que querrán compartir la habitación. La única excepción es si un estudiante trae a un amigo que no asiste a la iglesia. Nos aseguraremos de acomodarlos en su preferencia de alojamiento. 

How will my child be transported to the event?
Currently we will be transporting all students in a combination of buses and/or vans. All vehicles will only be driven by The Church On The Way approved and responsible drivers.

Actualmente estaremos transportando a todos los estudiantes en una combinación de autobuses y/o camionetas. Todos los vehículos serán conducidos únicamente por voluntarios responsables y aprobados por The Church On The Way. 

What will my child eat while away?
Your student will be fed three square meals a day and provided with all necessary nutrition. If your student has special dietary restrictions, please include that on their registration form. You may wish to send extra cash for the Snack Shack that is open 2x a day during free time but it is not required.

¿Qué comerá mi hijo mientras esté fuera?
Su estudiante recibirá tres comidas completas al día y se le proporcionará toda la nutrición necesaria. Si su estudiante tiene restricciones dietéticas especiales, inclúyalo en su formulario de registro. Tambien, si quisiera darle dinero a sus hijos para poder comprar snacks en la tienda del campamento que esta abierta 2x por dia, eso es opcional, pero no requerido. 

Where can I find a packing list and general schedule?
We have all of those details in the Registration Packet which can be downloaded during online registration or you can get a physical copy from our youth group gatherings.

How will my student be supervised? Can I, the parent, attend as a chaperone?
Each student will have an assigned adult mentor who will be responsible for overseeing their cabin group. All adult mentors have been background checked and undergo trainings. In addition, we feel all of our adult mentors have a strong calling to serve students. Our mission is to not just provide supervision, but discipleship. For this reason, our committed small group leaders who undergo age specific training all year round are our go-to leaders for camps. There have been few times when we have been short leaders who are available to go, in which case we have asked parents that have been well involved in prior church activities to assist although this is uncommon.

Cada estudiante tendrá asignado un mentor adulto que será responsable de supervisar su grupo de cabina. Todos los mentores adultos han sido verificados. Además, sentimos que todos nuestros mentores adultos tienen un fuerte llamado a servir a los estudiantes. Nuestra misión es no solo proporcionar supervisión, sino también discipulado. Por esta razon, nuestros lideres de grupos de vida, que reciben constante entrenamiento durante el año, son los lideres primarios para nuestro campamento. Han habido veces cuando no tenemos suficientes lideres que pueden ir al campamento, y en esas instancias hemos usado a padres que estan muy involucrados con otras actividades de la iglesia, pero esto no es comun.

My student doesn’t know anyone and is nervous about attending, what can I do?
Going to camp can be intimidating because your student may not know anyone, or maybe they are unsure and nervous about what camp will be like. I have never seen an environment create community like camps and retreats. If your student has great friendships at school or on a sports team, it is likely because they spend concentrated time in those environments. Camp provides a similar concentration of time in order for friendships to happen and ultimately camp becomes a springboard into building lasting and godly relationships in Youth Ministry. It may just be time to jump in! We are proactive in making sure students acclimate well to new environments and set our camps up to foster new friendships. Most often, the same students that are nearly dragged to camps are the ones we have to drag home to leave!

Mi estudiante no conoce a nadie y está nervioso por asistir, ¿qué puedo hacer? 

Ir a un campamento puede ser intimidante porque es posible que su estudiante no conozca a nadie, o tal vez no esté seguro y esté nervioso acerca de cómo será el campamento. Nunca he visto un lugar que cree una comunidad como campamentos y retiros. Si su estudiante tiene grandes amistades en la escuela o en un equipo deportivo, es probable que pase tiempo concentrado en esos lugares. El campamento proporciona una concentración de tiempo similar para que sur jan amistades y, en última instancia, el campamento se convierte en un trampolín para construir amistades duraderas en el Ministerio Juvenil. ¡Puede que sea el momento de saltar!
