A New Chapter of Spiritual Growth: Navigating the Transition to Retirement
(Jeremiah 29:11 & Psalm 37:4)
(Jeremiah 29:11 & Psalm 37:4)
Retirement isn't just about reaching a certain age. People retire for various reasons: financial independence, health concerns, wanting more free time, following a spouse's retirement, plans to travel, spending time with family, or rethinking careers after children leave home.
Many questions about retirement occupy our thoughts, whether we're nearing, beginning, or already living it. I wish I had started asking questions at 50? Found people who had encouraging stories and perspectives about what was ahead. It would have been great to have a group of women to brainstorm with about new and exciting possibilities.
This small group is about finding Joy in retirement, moving forward in praise, purpose and partnership with other women. Do you have questions? Ask away! Can’t find focus for the future? Let’s see how God is encouraging us through scripture. Just started your Retirement Journey? We have a devotional that offers peace, perspective and clarity as you navigate this new season of transition.
Why wait until you are months away from retiring. Start reflecting, planning and praying now. Listen to what other women have gone through, come out of and are looking forward to in their prime years.
We will be reading weekly from the “One Year Retirement Devotional for Women.” A faith-filled book that will inspire us through meaningful stories, and scriptures leading us to a real sense of Joyful anticipation. Each week, we’ll take “New Steps” to explore our passions and purposes, celebrating discoveries together as a community.
An encouraging quote from the book…“Each day I discovered that God’s plans for me were still unfolding filled with opportunities to grow and bless others.”
Wherever you may be on this journey, let us address the emotional and spiritual transitions of this new chapter in our lives together. (8-10 women)
